Jones Williams, 51, of San Francisco, California, passed on November 11, 2001. Jones was born on September 14, 1950.
Jones Williams beloved husband of Sally and father of 7, passed away suddenly. His death was a tragic suicide from the effects of PTSD and survivor's guilt from the Vietnam War.
He was a man of priority: faith, freedom, family, and friends. He was a committed Catholic at St. Michael the Archangel Church. He volunteered there and lead a mental health support group. although he was consumed by his own demons, he served his parish by trying to help others overcome theirs.
As a dedicated member of the United States Army, he worked his way up to the rank of lieutenant. He was proud to serve when he was drafted to fight in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged following his service.
He returned to San Francisco to his loving wife, 3 sons, and 4 daughters. Jones attempted to hold down many jobs to support and provide for his family. Additionally, he was a coach for the boy's baseball teams.
Jones never underestimated the value of friendship. Many neighbors, teammates, parishioners, and Army buddies called him ¨friend.¨ He always had time to lend an ear or loan a dollar. He lived by the saying, "A manś friendship is one of the best measures of his worth.¨ (Charles Darwin)
