He is survived by his wife, Ginny Chambers of Kimmell, who he wed October 22, 2015. Also surviving are his parents, mother and stepfather Lisa and Brian Erb of Kimmell, Indiana, and father John Christopher of Fort Wayne; his children, Hannah Chambers, Taiden Howard-Chambers, Jonathan Chambers, Thomas Chambers and Lily Chambers, all of Ligonier, Indiana; a brother, Daniel Edgar of Ligonier, Indiana; sister Amber (Ryan) Stutzman of Ligonier, Indiana; brother Brent Erb of Hartford City, Indiana; sister Angel Harp of Cromwell, Indiana; brother Adam Christopher of Fort Wayne, Indiana; his aunt; April (Lance) Waters of Kendallville, Indiana; and two uncles, Larry Chambers and Skip Chambers, both of Waynedale, Indiana, along with eight nephews and one niece who also survive. He was preceded in death by his beloved maternal grandparents, Lynn Chambers who passed in 1985 and Larry Chambers who passed in 1990. Jonny had been a resident of Knapp Lake since the age of six. Mr. Chambers attended West Noble Schools and was an exceptional wrestler while attending. He was a hardworking and very giving man. He was loved and trusted by many. Jonny enjoyed holidays with his family and children. Jonny was an avid fan of heavy metal, tattoos and his long hair while he had it. He had a signature laugh and enjoyed making others share in the laughter. Jonny took on the role willingly as a second father for many children throughout his lifetime. Some of his favorite times were simple evenings with (as he would say) ol' lady and children enjoying a good meal and a movie. He often spent time working hard in the outdoors with his sons or cuddling with his daughters on the couch. Jonny was an exceptional friend and would be there whenever asked. He will be missed by many. A memorial service in Jonny's honor will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, Indiana. Pastor Josh Vargas will officiate. Burial will follow at Stringtown Cemetery. Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
