Jono Alexander StuartJono Alexander Stuart formerly of Westwood, New Jersey passed away in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on May 1st, 2017 of a heart attack. We are devastated by the loss of our Jono and can't believe we will never see his beautiful smile or hear his amazing laugh ever again.Jono was born on December 27, 1982 to Irene (Mottola) and Raymond Stuart. Jono is survived by his parents, his sister, Megan Carstens, his brother-in-law, Michael Carstens, his nephew, Lucas Carstens, his niece, Brielle Carstens and his beloved dog, Carson. Jono was a wonderfully happy kid who was never without a smile and was always laughing. He loved fishing and his mom spent a great many hours with him catching fish. His greatest catch was a 524 lb. Marlin while on vacation in Hawaii. He also loved sports, especially baseball, and his dad was at every practice and game to cheer him on. He went on to play baseball for Westwood High School as a pitcher and achieved all-county, all-state and The Record athlete-of the-week honors. However, Jono's favorite thing was to spend time with his friends and he would do anything for them and that never changed.Jono worked at the family printing company, Ray's Reproductions, for many years. During that time, Jono battled substance abuse with limited success. Finally in October 2015, Jono went to The Beachcomber Rehabilitation Center in Florida. He achieved one year of sobriety on March 7th, 2017 and was happier than he had ever been. He had many friends, a loving girlfriend and a job that he loved as manager of several sober living homes. He was so proud of himself and his achievements and he had the world at his fingertips. We didn't know how much he was loved and how many lives he had impacted until after his death and we received all of the emails, texts, messages and phone calls. A celebration of his life was held on May 7th in Florida with many of his friends attending in remembrance of Jono.A Memorial Celebration will be held on Saturday, May 13th, 2017 from1-4 pm at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, New Jersey.
