Jorge Rojas was received by his Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 9th, 2017. He was 76.

Beloved husband of Mirna Maritza Rivera Rojas of 45 years. Father of Yecenia Rojas Lopez (Marco), Mirna Rojas Rivera (Henry), Tania Rojas Martinez (Luis), Gina Rojas Acosta (Cesar). Grandfather of Natalie, Tatiana, Bianca, Sofia, Jorge Luis, Vanessa, Melandie, and Gianna. Also survived by his mother, Santos Rojas, five brothers, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by his father, Antonio Rojas, brother, Ruben Rojas, and sister, Digna Rojas.

Jorge was a native of La Ceiba, Honduras, and resident of the New Orleans area for 30 years. Prior to coming to the United States, he played professional futbol in Honduras. Later in life, he was a sailor for Carnival Cruise line for 10 years. He was responsible, hard-working, loving, and always full of joy. He had very strong character and never met a stranger. He will be dearly missed by everyone who had the privilege to know him.

Relatives and friend of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service from Iglesia de Dios Getsemani, 2701 Transcontinental Drive, Metairie, on Wednesday evening, September 13th, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00.
