It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of José Carillo, who was born on June 20, 1977, in Oakland, California, United States. He passed away on October 17, 1989, at the young age of 12. José was the beloved son of Carlos and Isabella Carillo, who also tragically passed away.

Jose did not have any children but was loved by his extended family and friends. He attended Piedmont Avenue School for his high school education and showed a passion for learning and reading.

Unfortunately, José's life was cut short due to the Loma Prieta Earthquake, which took the lives of many innocent individuals on that fateful day. Despite the tragic circumstances of his passing, José will be remembered for his bright spirit and love for knowledge.
