Jose "Gonzalo" Popoca, Jr.FREMONT: Jose Gonzalo Popoca, Jr., 60, of Fremont, OH passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Bethesda Care Center. He was born on October 24, 1956 in Mexico, the son of Gonzalo and Maria (Lozano) Popoca, Sr. He attended Terra Community College where he received his Welder's Certificate.Gonzalo worked at Whirlpool for over ten years and then worked for Goodwill Industries until his sickness. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed singing, music, working on cars, sports-especially the Dallas Cowboys and helping everyone.The family would like to thank ProMedica Cancer Center, Bethesda Care Center and Heartland Hospice.Gonzalo is survived by his siblings, Maria Conception Garcia, Juan M. Popoca, Leticia (Henry) Cruz all of Fremont, OH and Juana Maria (Dennis) Mook, Clyde, OH; many nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmothers, Aurora Acosta and Celia Vasquez Popoca; brother, Jose Angel Popoca.Visitation: Thursday from 2 - 6 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E.
