It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jose Marti, who was born on January 28, 1853, in Rio Cauto, Granma Province, Cuba. He passed away on May 19, 1895, during a valiant battle against Spanish troops at the Battle of Dos Rios.

Jose Marti was a dedicated patriot and revolutionary, known for his unwavering commitment to Cuban independence. He devoted his life to fighting for the freedom and sovereignty of his beloved country, inspiring generations to come.

He married Carmen Zayas-Bazan in 1878 and together they had one child, Jose Francisco Marti Zayas, who continued his father's legacy of fighting for justice and independence.
