Joseph A. DitzelPittstownJoseph A. Ditzel, age 63 of Pittstown, NJ passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at home. He was born on September 21, 1954 in Morristown, NJ. He spent his childhood in Martinsville, NJ before moving to Lebanon, NJ. He resided in Pittstown, NJ for the past 17 years.He was the son of the late Wallace F. and Bertha M. Oakes Ditzel. Joseph was the husband of Christine M. Haux-Ditzel, celebrating 19 years of marriage.He worked in Maintenance at Walmart in Clinton, NJ for 20 years. Previously, he had worked in construction.Joseph had a true passion for motorcycles. He also loved animals and enjoyed taking photos of wildlife. He was an outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing. He loved to spend time in his man cave and his garage. Joseph also enjoyed woodworking, watching movies and the history channel. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. Joseph will always be remembered for his delicious apple pies. He was especially very happy and proud to own his own home.Survivors in addition to his loving wife include three sisters; Laura Betza and her husband Phil of Hillsborough, NJ, Serina Mitchell and Lou Nolan of Honesdale, PA and Dorothy Rogers and her husband Fred of Bridgewater, NJ. Joseph is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law; Justin and Marie Haux of Blandon, PA. Brother-in-law; David Haux and his wife Fabiola of Oregon and Sister-in-law; Karen Baney and her husband Phil of Fleetwood, PA. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He is also survived by many dear friends and his beloved dogs; Max and Mandy and his cats; Chase and Tanner. Gathering of friends will take place on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 10am - 2pm at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, 95 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge, NJ. Memorials can be made to the family directly and can be sent to: Christine M.
