On Wednesday, May 19, 2004, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ called him home to be with him. His time on Earth was complete. He left this earth surrounded by his loved ones, whom he cared the most about.
Joseph Ambrose Rodriguez was born on December 7, 1952, in Williams, Arizona. He was raised by his maternal grandparents, Joe B. and Juanita Martinez. He received his nickname "Frosty" by his aunt Cecilia, because he spilled baby powder on himself as an infant.
Frosty, as he was called by his loved ones was educated in the Williams School Systems and graduated from Williams High School in 1971. He enlisted in the U.S. Army immediately and was honorably discharged in June 1974.
Frosty will always be remembered as a tall, humorous man that everyone could enjoy. He was a devout Catholic and loved eating traditional Mexican dishes.
Frosty was a loving, charming, and adventurous individual that just enjoyed life!
In addition to his maternal grandparents whom he adored and were wonderful parents to him, he was also preceded in death by an honorary brother, Louie Martinez, an uncle, Fred Martinez, and an aunt, Alice Hodge.
Frosty leaves many memories that will be cherished by his partner of fifteen years, Carla McIlvaine, of the home. His three beloved children, Jeremy, Nakia, and Tasha Rodriguez, all of Kinston, NC. His beloved brothers whom he was raised with, Lorenzo Rodriguez, Joe and Ray Martinez, all of Williams, AZ; Frank Martinez, of Gallup, NM; His honorable aunts, Josie Soto of Aztec, NM; Cecilia Martinez, of Pheonix, AZ; His biological mother, Pillar (Mary) Butcher, of Oklahoma City, OK; He will also be remembered by his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held on May 29th, 2004, in his hometown, where everyone loved him. The service was at Canyon Chapel, in Williams, Arizona, with Father Edes officiating. Interment will be at Williams Cemetery, with reception at the home of his brother, Lorenzo Rodriguez, also in Williams.
In honor to his legacy, please make any donations towards the American Cancer Society, to help provide treatments to cancer patients, thank you from the Rodriguez & Martinez families.
