It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Hayes Sr, who was born on September 19, 1949, and passed away on October 17, 2025, in Elgin, Illinois, United States. He was the beloved son of Steven Hayes and Octavia Smith. Joseph leaves behind his devoted partner, Angie Johnson, and their four children: Joseph Jr, Dashonna, Valerie, and Kenya. He was also a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren.

Joseph attended Martin Luther King High School, where he graduated in 1967. He had a passion for fixing cars and spent countless hours working on engines in his spare time. He was a skilled mechanic and was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and family in need.

Joseph will be remembered for his kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones. He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will be cherished forever.
