Campopiano, Joseph M.JOSEPH MARIO CAMPOPIANO, 81, of Monroe, CT, passed away on Thursday, October 13th, 2016 in Bridgeport Hospital with his loving family at his side. Joseph was born on July 20th, 1935 in Bridgeport, CT, to William and Domenica (De Stefano) Campopiano.Joseph was the loving and devoted husband of 57 years to Virginia (DeMalt) Campopiano. In addition to his wife, survivors include his devoted children Glenn Campopiano of Atlanta GA, David Campopiano of Bridgeport, Janine Alvear and her husband Clemente of Monroe, Elaina Campopiano of Monroe, Joseph Campopiano, Jr and his wife Savita of Ponte Vedra FL, and his cherished grandchildren, Calvin Campopiano, Cory Campopiano, Specialist AJ Edgeworth, US Army, Nicholas Edgeworth, Emma Alvear, Vienna Campopiano, and London Campopiano and several nieces and nephews. Joseph served proudly in the United States Marine Corp, during the Korean Conflict and attended Bullard Havens Technical School. He worked for The Producto Machine Company for 28 years. He was a Charter Member of the Pope John XXIII Council, Knights of Columbus of Monroe, a past Grand Knight, a member of the Disabled American Veterans and American Legion. In addition to his parents, Joseph was predeceased by his brother, Michael Campopiano, and two sisters, Chiara Carrafiello and Helen Farrell.Funeral services will take place on Wednesday October 19, 2016 at 9:00 am at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, Trumbull, CT and at 10:00 am in St. Stephen's Church 6948 Main St. Trumbull for a Mass of Christian burial.
