Taylor, Joseph Carl,88, of Louisville passed away at Norton Brownsboro Hospital on June 1, 2017. Carl was born on September 4, 1928 to Olie and Charlotte Taylor in their home on 9th Street in Louisville.Carl graduated from Louisville Male High School in 1946 and immediately went to work for Louisville Gas & Electric Company. He was drafted into the Army in 1950 and served in Korea during the Korean War before being honorably discharged in 1952. He then went to work for Joseph E. Seagram & Sons, Inc. and began attending evening classes at the University of Louisville where he was awarded an Associate Degree in Business and Commerce. In 1966 Carl was employed by the Louisville and Jefferson County Metropolitan Sewer District Board as Secretary-Treasurer and served in that position until retiring in 1991.Carl was preceded in death by Joan I. Taylor, his beautiful and loving wife of 50 years. They were married on July 7, 1959, and were blessed by the birth of a handsome boy, Steven Lee, on January 27, 1968. Carl always referred to his wife as the nicest person he had ever met, and to his son as his greatest accomplishment.In addition to Steven, Carl is survived by his brother Louis C. Taylor of Owensboro, KY., and Steve's family Liza Taylor, Erica Buchanan, Craig Anderson, Chad Anderson, and Andrea Stephens. Carl is also survived by nephews Marc and Michael Taylor and nieces Janet Taylor and Mary Lou Nolan.Visitation will be held from 12 until 2 on Monday, June 5, at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd., with a graveside service to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.Memorial contributions can be made to Hosparus.Please visit
