JOSEPH CLEVELAND HYATT Joseph Cleveland Hyatt, 78, passed away on December 15, 2016, at his home in Wilmington, NC. He was born on May 19, 1938 in Brown Marsh Township in Bladen County, NC, to Rowland and Blanche Hyatt. Joseph, also known as "Buddy," grew up in Clarkton, NC, and he moved to Wilmington in 1966 where he worked for General Electric from 1970-1999. Joseph "Buddy" and Louise Hyatt were happily married for 41 years. She preceded him in death in 2000. Joe is survived by his second wife, Linda Hyatt. Joseph "Buddy" is survived by his children: Joey Hyatt, Ronnie Hyatt and Yvonne Hughes; sister: Betty Merritt; grandchildren: Joseph Hughes, Cassandra Hughes, Marissa Hyatt and Danielle Hyatt; Great-grandson: Brayden Hyatt. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Lewis officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery in Bolton, NC. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery, 4658 Old Lake Road, Bolton, NC 28423.
