Joseph "Sonny" DavisFuneral services for Mr. Joseph "Sonny" Davis, 83, of Jonesville, LA will be held at First United Methodist Church of Jonesville at 2 PM Sunday, July 30, 2017 with Rev. Lloyd Trisler and Rev. Stewart Sherman officiating. Interment to follow in Jena Cemetery, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home-Jonesville.Mr. Davis was born on June 9, 1934 to Joseph G. Davis & Margery Richard Davis in Jonesville, LA and passed away on Thursday, July 27 at his residence surrounded by his family.He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Jonesville. He served his country in the United States Army as a medic for two years. Mr. Davis was a graduate of Loyola University with a degree in Pharmacy, he owned and operated Davis Drugs in Jonesville for 35 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife- Nellie Edwards Davis; and his son- Joseph Mark Davis.He is survived by his son- Tim Davis and his wife Melissa; daughter-in-law- Joni F. Davis; 5 grandchildren- Scott Davis, Joseph Davis, Heather Davis Smith & husband Scott, John Davis and Jordan Davis, all of Jonesville, LA; 3 great grandchildren- Hunter Blake Hamilton, Koltyn Hayes Smith, and Evelyn Claire Dubose; and a special cousin- Kent P. Richard.Pallbearers will be Scott Davis, Joseph Davis, John Davis, Kent Richard, John Morgan, and Scott Smith.Honorary pallbearers are Dr. W.C.
