Joseph Bernaldo was granted his angel wings on September 5, 2015, he was 53 years old.Joseph was born on November 6, 1961 in Lezo Aklan, Philippines. He arrived in Juneau, Alaska in January of 1980. He was known for his character and charismatic personality. He loved to go on adventures and explore new things. He was very friendly and family oriented and never missed a family event. He devoted his quality time with his children; he worked for the State of Alaska and at the Federal Building as a custodian. He was one of the nine children of the late Jaime & Elena Bernaldo. He has now joined his sister Marlie Agustin and brother Larry Bernaldo (in Heaven). He was survived by his loving children Jessa Bernaldo, Justin Bernaldo, ex-wife Jesusa Bernaldo & beloved families that he had touched throughout his life. He is also survived by his brothers & sisters; Lourdes Skeek, Lolita Tagaban, both from Petersburg, AK; Teodosia Cipriano, Nerio Bernaldo, Myrna Gonzales, & Francisco Bernaldo all who live in Juneau, AK. His Aunt, Teodora R. Gomez & Uncle Miguel Dela Rosa, both of Philippines.Joseph will be surely missed but never forgotten. His character will live on. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a devoted husband, father, brother and friend. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life" John 3:16.Viewing will be held on Friday, September 11, 5-8 PM at the Alaska Memorial Park & Mortuary, 3839 Riverside Drive. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 12, at St. Paul Catholic Church at 1PM; reception will follow after burial at the St. Paul's Parish Hall.
