Fitzpatrick, Joseph "Joe" 77, passed away Friday, October 23, 2015, at Retama Manor Nursing Home in Harlingen. Joe was born on March 29, 1938, in Mulhall, OK to Merle and Goldie Fitzpatrick. He served in the United States Air Force for over 23 years and attained the rank of Master Sargent. He married the love of his life, Adella Paxson, on July 23, 1971. They lived in Wichita, KS for many years, where he was a Master Plumber. Joe was a member of the American Legion Post #256 and a member of the Glenville Baptist Church in Wichita, KS. He also was active with the Alcoholics Anonymous Program in Hayville, KS for many years. Joe and Adella moved to Harlingen, TX in 1994 after retirement. He continued his plumbing work when called upon and was a 20 year member of the Rio Hondo Baptist Church in Rio Hondo, TX. He had many hobbies which included playing pool, cards, hunting, square dancing, and a passion for collecting figurine eagles. He is survived by his wife, Adella; daughters, Linda Wysocki (Ken) and Marian Costa; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Merlene Fitzpatrick; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jeannie Taylor, and a brother, Gene Fitzpatrick. Visitation hours will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2015, at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, Harlingen, TX. A celebration of Joe's life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 26, at the Rio Hondo Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gene Horton officiating. Services will conclude at the church.
