Joseph G. KondekAGE: 81 • MiddletownJoseph G. Kondek, 81, of Middletown, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Meridian Health Care Center in Shrewsbury. Joseph was born on January 1, 1936 in Jersey City, where he was raised. As a young adult, Joseph moved with his family to Union Beach. On October 24, 1965, he and his wife, Arlene, were married and began their life together in Sayreville. A few years later, they moved to Brick Town where they began raising their family. After 10 years, they relocated to Matawan and in 1996, Joseph and Arlene settled in Middletown. Before his retirement, Joseph worked for various companies throughout his life utilizing his skills as a HVAC Mechanic. He was also a proud U.S.
Army Veteran. Joseph's favorite way to spend his free time was at the bowling alley. He absolutely loved bowling, which was a hobby of his for the last 60 years. He was a member of many different bowling leagues over the years in the Bayshore Area. Joseph was also a devout parishioner of St. Benedict Church in Holmdel, where he and his family have been members of the church since 1980.He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph F. and Mary (Molnar) Kondek, and his beloved wife, Arlene E. (Toth) Kondek. Joseph is survived by his loving children, Joseph S. Kondek of Middletown and Karen I. Kondek of Atlantic Highlands, his dear brother, Edward Kondek and his wife, Jeanette, of Middletown, his cherished nieces, Jillian Derocckis and Marisa Bryer, along with five great-nieces, extended family members, and friends. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, February 8th from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM and Thursday, February 9th from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Hwy/Rt 35 N, Hazlet.
