Joseph F. Guillory, Jr.Opelousas - Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM, Saturday, June 3, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas, to celebrate of Life of Joseph Fabuis Guillory, Jr., 71, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 2:30 PM, at Opelousas General Hospital. Entombment will be in the St. Peter Catholic Church Cemetery in Morrow. Reverend Father Greg Simien will be officiated the Mass and Deacon Ulysse Joubert will conduct the committal services. Readers will be Rowan and Riley Guillory. Gift bearers will be Beaugh Lanclos and Brandon Guillory. Music will be provided by Deborah Bertinot, organist, and Beverly Leblanc, soloist.Joseph was born on July 12, 1945 in Church Point and is the son of Joseph Fabuis Guillory, Sr. and Mary Elta Comeaux Guillory.Joseph was a butcher, ran Bee's Lounge, and retired from the oil field. He was a proud and active member of Circuit Riders Motorcycle Ministry for six and a half years and served as Vice-President for four years.Mr. Guillory was known by several names during his lifetime. Some of them are Jay, Shorty, Jay Boy, Jeff, JF, and Joe. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 37 years, Sandra Hebert Guillory; two daughters, Monica GS Lanclos and husband, Dexter, Janalyn Guillory Patin and husband, Brandon; and two sons, Joseph Ernie and Jeremy and wife Kristi; 9 grandchildren, Cody and Beaugh Lanclos, Christopher, Daniel, Rowan, Riley, Brandon, Bennett, and Everett Guillory; and one great-grandchild Wyatt Guillory. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Fabuis and Elta and by previous wife, Susan Fuselier.Pallbearers will be Ernie, Jeremy, Chris, and Daniel Guillory, Cody Lanclos, and Brandon Patin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Beaugh Lanclos and Brandon Guillory. Visiting hours will be observed at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 10 AM to 10 PM. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Byrne Winn at 7 PM on Friday evening at the funeral home. Visiting hours will resume at 8 AM on Saturday, June 3 until time of service at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. The family would like to acknowledge with deep appreciation the wonderful care provided by the entire staff of the Lafayette General Hospital and the ER staff at Opelousas General Hospital along with the staff of Amedisys Home Health.
