Joseph Jody Wayne Jeffery, 53, of Rockwell, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Angela (Kirby) Jeffery to whom he was married for 28 years. Jody was born on Dec. 12, 1962 to the late Richard Mix Jeffery and JoAnn Atwell in Bluefield, W. Va. He was a skilled jack of all trades and worked for many years in the construction industry. Jody loved to fish and watch wrestling in his spare time. He had the world's biggest heart and opened his home and heart to everyone he met; he would give the shirt off his back to anyone who was in need. He was a loving father, devoted husband, loyal friend, and a lifesaver to many. The most important part of his life was his family. He loved them dearly and they loved him. Jody was greatly loved and will be missed by all. In addition to his parents, Jody was preceded in death by two brothers, Sammy and Rick Jeffery. Jody is survived by his wife, Angela Jeffery; one daughter, Brittany Jeffery of Rockwell; three sons, Jesse Jeffery and wife Kirsten of Faith, Jed DuBois and wife Laura of Rockwell and Jody Bretz and partner Mary of Gold Hill; two brothers, Terry Jeffery of Salisbury and James Kelly of Concord; one granddaughter, Lennon Elaine Jeffery; one niece, Shana Hagan and husband Brandon of Kannapolis; and numerous members of Jody's big extended family. Visitation & Service: A visitation time will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016 from 1-2 p.m. at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
