JOSEPH EARL KATZOCTOBER 3, 2017Joseph E Katz passed away on October 3, 2017 at his home in Alva, FL. He was born on September 15, 1932 in Saginaw, MI and was the 2nd eldest of 8 children.Joseph served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S Marine Corps and fought in the "Chosen Reservoir" during the Korean War. He was a Master Plumber for more than 46 years and owned and operated Katz Plumbing.Joseph is survived by his loving wife Rachel of 65 years. Together they have 10 children: Julie, Daniel, Joseph, Richard, John, Tim, Anne, Peter, Matthew, and Mary. He was preceded in death by his son, John. Joseph was a loving grandfather of 39 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Many knew him as "Superman".A visitation will be held in Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Road 82, Ft Myers, FL 33913 on Friday October 6 from 5-7pm. A funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Saturday, October 7 at Our Lady Queen of Angels Chapel, 376 Prospect Ave, Ft. Myers, FL 33905. A burial service will follow at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joseph's honor to Our Lady Queen of Angels, P. O. Box 50039, Ft Myers, FL 33994.
