McBride, Joseph M. Longtime resident of Whitefish Bay, passed away peacefully June 4, 2017 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Jeanne (nee Jackson), proud father of Patricia (Jeff) Smejkal of Des Moines, Iowa, Julie (Jim) Borgealt of Muskego, Wisconsin, and David (Lori) McBride of Jacksonville, Florida. Loving grandfather to Katherine, Julianna, Greta and Alison. Also, survived by his sister, Sarah McBride and brother-in-law, David Jackson as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Peter D. McBride, Sr., Eleanor McBride and his brother, Peter D. McBride, Jr. Joe was born on February 19, 1927 in Milwaukee. He graduated from Whitefish Bay High School. Following high school, Joe attended Marquette University. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War where he taught future pilots using simulators. Following his military service, Joe worked as a manufacturer's rep for twenty years. After retiring, he started his own tree trimming business which he operated successfully until his second retirement. Joe loved the woods and lakes of northern Wisconsin and spending time with his family and lifelong friends. Special thanks to the staff and caregivers at the Elizabeth Residence Bayside and AseraCare Hospice. Visitation will be held at St. Monica Catholic Church, 160 E. Silver Spring Dr, Whitefish Bay, on Friday, June 9, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, immediately followed by celebration of Mass of Christian Burial. Interment following the Mass at Union Cemetery, 5982 N.
