Joseph M. Vigil, 45, a longtime resident of Chacon, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2016.He was born on May 1, 1971, to Manuel Vigil and Ruth Trujillo Vigil in Las Vegas.He was a self-employed electrician for 28 years. Joseph was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, son-in-law and friend. He enjoyed fishing, working on his cars and listening to music.A Catholic, he was a member of St. Gertrude Church in Mora.He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Vigil.He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Vigil of the family home; sons, Vidal Vigil, Alejandro Vigil and Vicente Vigil, all of Chacon; daughter, Melinda Vigil and boyfriend, Jordon Vasquez, of Sapello; grandchildren, Iris, Richard, Paul and Jordynn; mother, Ruth Trujillo of Chacon; sister, Gerardine Vigil-Bartel and husband, Joel, of Pecos; brothers, Anthony Vigil and girlfriend, Jory, of Jemez, Manuel Vigil, Jr. and wife, Brenda, of El Carmen, John Paul Vigil and wife, Patricia, of Las Vegas; mother-in-law, Connie Baca; father-in-law, Eddie Gutierrez, both of Las Vegas; sisters-in-law, Lucy Valdez of Taos, Karen Herrera and husband, Ramon, of Las Vegas, Edwina Garcia and husband, Billy, of Arizona; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday at St. Gertrude Church in Mora. Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday also at St. Gertrude Church in Mora with Father Paul Grala, SOLT as celebrant. Interment will follow at Chacon Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers: Vidal Vigil, Alejandro Vigil, Francisco Hurtado, Edwin Herrera, Anthony Vigil and Ramon Herrera.Visit Rogers Mortuary's website at
