Joseph Ostrowski went with Jesus, Joseph and Mary to his home in Heaven on Saturday, October 5, 2013. He was born on May 3, 1941 in St Joseph, Missouri to Andrew and Sophia Ostrowski. Joe is a Marine who fought for, and loved, his country including two tours of Vietnam.He retired from the U.S. Marine Corp in 1979 and continued his career as a
fire fighter with McDonnell Douglas. He obtained his Real Estate License then his Broker License and opened Century 21 Action Group in Yuma. He was a dedicated broker and trained many agents who went on to be successful in Real Estate. Joe loved to fish and was a member of the Yuma Valley Rod and Gun club. Joseph was a devout Catholic and was also a member of IC Parish. He is proceeded in death by his parents Andrew and Sophia Ostrowski; Mary Ostrowski; sister Isabel Sullivan; brothers, Alex (Butch) Ostrowski and Stanley Ostrowski. Joseph is survived by his loving wife Shelley, daughters Dionne Parrish (David), Christine Argueta, Chelsea Ostrowski and sons Ryan Vanderpool (Kristina) and Nick Vanderpool (Sara); his brothers Andrew Ostrowski, Frank Ostrowski (Helen) and Mike Ostrowski (Pam); his sisters Sophie Fattig, Josie Liss, Mary Holmes, Helen Benyo. He also leaves his best friend Wrinkles, his dog. Poppa Joe's grandchildren were his great joy! They are Matthew Parrish, Jonathan Parrish, Amanda Argueta, Josh Argueta, Jenny Argueta, Wyatt Vanderpool, Maebry Vanderpool, Savannah Vanderpool, Myranda Vanderpool, and Miley Vanderpool; His godson Angel Rosales; And many nieces and nephews. Pall bearers will be David Parrish, Matthew Parrish, Jonathan Parrish, Ryan Vanderpool, Nick Vanderpool, Matias Rosales and Alex Meza. Honorary pall bearers are Joshua Argueta, Amanda Argueta, Wyatt Vanderpool, Waldo Meza, Uriel Meza, Hugo Garcia and Alfredo Gonzalez. Joe encouraged all he knew to live each day with a smile on your lips and a song in your heart. A Viewing and Vigil will be held from 5pm - 9pm and Rosary at 7pm on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Johnson Mortuary, located at 1415 S 1st Ave, Yuma AZ. Mass and funeral services will be held at 9am, Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Church located at 505 S Ave B, Yuma AZ.
