JOSEPH PAUL WILDER Joseph passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016. He was born on May 19, 1923, in Norfolk, Virginia to Henry Cleveland Wilder and Willie Odom. Joseph is survived by two children, Jeffrey Alan Wilder of Redding, California and Paula Jane Wilder of Cave Creek, Arizona; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Joseph Wilder and Alana Marie Wilder; and four great grandchildren, Chloe Wilder, Soren Wilder, Ansel Wilder, and Eloise Wilder. Joseph was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen Morgan Wilder. Paul worked at the Norfolk Ship Yards as a finish carpenter early during World War II refitting ocean liners into troop transport ships. He joined the 8th Army Air Corps and trained as a radarman on B-29 bombers. He was stationed at March Air Field where he met his wife Kathleen. After the war he settled in Riverside, California where he worked for Lewis's, Rohr Aircraft, and Stater Bros. When he retired from Stater Bros. after 22 years, he and Kathleen moved to King City, Oregon, where he managed a retirement facility for 5 years. Upon his second retirement he returned to California settling in Hemet in the Seven Hills Community. In 2012 he moved to Cave Creek, Arizona to live with his daughter and son-in-law. He was a southern gentleman and patriot until his last breath. He will be very missed by all who knew him, he is now home with his Lord. A Visitation will be in Hemet at McWane Family Funeral Home on Saturday, November 19th, from 9:00 to 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Olivewood Cemetery in Riverside at 12:00 noon.
