nski, age 91, of Inverness, FL passed away on November 15, 2016 at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness. Joseph was born on December 8, 1924 in Worcester, MA to the late Wincent and Mary (Swillow) Rudzinski. He made Citrus County his home in 2012 after relocating from Pikesville, MD. He was a
World War IIVeteran of the United States
Army and
Purple Heart recipient.After his military service, Joseph worked in many different professions that included making architectural models for architects and as a Merchandising Manager for Levitt's Furniture. He later became an expert Chocolatier and produced custom chocolates for special events and had even pursued an interest in becoming a Sommelier while working at Sutton Place. Joseph was a natural artist and had enjoyed painting when he was younger. He enjoyed a good game of golf and tried out for the Olympic Swimming Team in his youth, making it to the finalists round for his backstroke.Joseph loved spending time with his family and enjoyed activities with them including square dancing with the "Swinging Skippers" group in Milbury, MA, helping out with his son's Cub Scout and Boy Scout Troops when he was young and taking cruises with them. Later in life, Joseph enjoyed watching military movies and westerns, especially John Wayne movies. He will be remembered as a loving, dedicated father and doting grandfather.Those left to mourn Joseph's passing are his son, Jay Rudzinski and his wife Jennifer of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; step-son, Phillip Levinson and his wife Winnie of Baltimore, MD; granddaughter, Anna Marie Rudzinski of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandson, Lee Levinson of Baltimore, MD; siblings: Robert Rudzinski of Worcester, MA, Theodore J. Rhodes of Lakeland, FL; sister Marion Bergman of Lakeland, FL; predeceased by brothers Vincent and Chester Rudzinski, and sister Bernice Chetcheta. Joseph was preceded in death by his first wife, Isabelle (Forrest) Rudzinski in 1974 and his second wife, Esther Levinson in 1997.A Memorial Service is planned for Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL where full military honors will be rendered by Floral City
VFW Post #7122 Honor Guard in recognition of Joseph's service to his country. Friends are invited to meet at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home beginning at 9:30 AM on the morning of the service to join the procession to the cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of the Chas E.
