BLOOMINGTON - Joseph Theodore Little, 93, 1017 S. Mercer Ave., Bloomington, died at 3:30 a.m. Monday (April 08, 2019) at Bromenn Advocate Medical Center, Bloomington Illinois
He was born March 7, 1926, in Bloomington to William Walter and Anna Davis Little.
Also surviving are three daughters, Diane Kessinger, Bloomington; Linda (Eric) Homan, Lexington; and Teresa (Tim) Tyler, Bloomington; four grandchildren, Sidney Kessinger, Tanya (Don) Murphy, Misty Kessinger and Jackie (Mase) Manns; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Rosemary Powell-White, Bloomington.
Joe also leaves behind his beloved companion, Frosty, his dog.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and six brothers.
Joe graduated as valedictorian in McLean County from Colfax High School. He was a self-employed painter for more than 50 years.
He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army during World War II.
A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday (April 13, 2019) at East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington, with the Rev. Randy Perry officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post No. 635 following the service.
Visitation will from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at East Lawn Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service, and a private family burial will be at a later date.
Joe enjoyed fishing, NASCAR racing, planes and trains. He was a genealogy fanatic.
Joe was a good-natured man. He was very kind and loved his family dearly. He will be deeply missed.
