Joseph Anthony Wojtak1942 - 2016Joseph Anthony Wojtak, 74, of Groveland, Fla., passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 6, 2016. He was born on July 28, 1942, to Joseph J. and Julia E. (Simo) Wojtak in Kenosha, Wis. He graduated from St. Bonaventure High School in Sturtevant, Wis., and received his mechanical engineering degree from Kenosha Technical Institute. He wed Janet E. Sturm on Aug. 31, 1963. Joseph was employed by American Motors/Chrysler for 38 years in design, engineering and quality, earning a patent along the way. His career took him from Kenosha to Detroit, Mich., to Beijing, China, to Detroit again, retiring as a Jeep Special Programs Engineer. He was a long time member of the Moose Club Legion, Junior Achievement advisor, Project Business instructor, Homeowners Association President, Community Ambassador, and was an active volunteer with the Catholic Church. He was most recently a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Clermont, Fla."Big" Joe was larger than life with a huge heart, a truly good man whose greatest pastime was spending time with family and friends. He had a zest for life and a love of family traditions that he wanted to share with everyone. He enjoyed travelling with Janet all over the world, dancing, cooking, music, making new friends, and, most importantly, enjoying his family, who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by Janet, his wife of 53 years; children, Elisabeth A. Sentieri (Gary) of Fishers, Ind., Amy G. Weisman of Cincinnati, Ohio, Andrea M. Selear (Brett) of Carmel, Ind., Gregory J. Wojtak (Laurie) of Brentwood, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers, James, Jerry, John, George; and a sister Julie Matteucci. He is preceded in death by his mother and father; twin daughters, Jane and Mary; and granddaughter, Megan Rose Sentieri. A visitation and funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 2223 51st St, Kenosha, WI, on Thursday, Dec. 17, at 11 a.m.
