Josephine Kuntz, 82, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2019. She was born in Giddings, Texas on August 27, 1937 to the late Matilde and Rosa Esparza Muniz. Josephine was the beloved wife of the late Frederick J. Kuntz, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage. She spent her lifetime as a devoted mother and wife. While her husband was in the Air Force for 20 years, they were stationed in Wyoming, Bermuda, Washington D.C., California, North Dakota, Turkey, Japan and Austin, TX, where she was active in the military community supporting other families and the children as her own. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in New Braunfels, enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, spending time with her children and grandchildren, telling stories of her life-time and cooking. She took pride in her gardening which brought beauty and a sense of peace to her neighborhood. She had a way with nurturing plants and animals to grow richer and fuller passing down to her family that hard work, patience, and love for living things can bring satisfaction in seeing the result of your labor grow and come to fruition. She is survived by her children and their wives, Kristopher and Lori Kuntz of Schertz, Klayton Kuntz of New Braunfels, Kevin and Lisa Kuntz of San Marcos, and Keith Kuntz of New Braunfels; grandchildren Sierra, Serena, Nichole, Natalie, Austin, Joshua, and Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Emma, Avery, Hunter, and Zane; siblings, Kay and Al Chew of Giddings, Gloria and Ben Guarjardo of Georgetown, Lorene and Norman Holman of Giddings, Frances and Fred Silgero of Pinehurst, Hope and Clyde Holman of Amarillo, Lena Barrera of Giddings, Louis Sr. and Andrea Muniz of Giddings, Howard and Theresa Muniz of Giddings, and brother-in-law Malcom Redkey of Austin. Josephine is preceded in death by her siblings Marie Muniz, Lupe Muniz Redkey, and Genaro "Slick" Muniz. She will be dearly missed by all and remembered especially for her devotion to her family and the church. In honoring the wishes of Josephine, no services will be held, but instead speak of memories with those that shared her love.
