Chiacchiaro, Josephine (“Jo” and “Grammy”), 72, of Novato, CA, died on Saturday, May 23, 2015, after a one-year and seven-month courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (“AML”). Jo was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and had moved to Novato in March 2004 with her husband, Louis, to live next door to her daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughters. Jo and Louie were married 52 years this past February. Jo and Louie were inseparable; they loved to take cruises, go on lots of little trips, and spend lots of quality time with their family. Jo was an incredible wife, mother, and, most of all, an amazingly devoted grandmother. Jo’s family meant the world to her. Despite all of Jo’s struggles with her AML, Jo always managed to lift our spirits and make us smile and laugh; she was an inspiration to so many. Her family stood by her side and cheered her every step of the way. Grammy will forever remain in our hearts. Jo is survived by her devoted husband, Louis Chiacchiaro; son and daughter-in-law, Louis and Kim Chiacchiaro of Lake Ariel, PA; and, daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and James Boothe of Novato, CA, and twin granddaughters, Morgan and Taylor Boothe of Novato, CA.
If you choose to donate, please designate your donation to help fund Acute Myeloid Leukemia (“AML”) research. Another thing to consider is donating blood – it does not cost anything, but is priceless to a patient in need. Over the past one year and seven months, Jo received well over 100 blood and platelet transfusions which helped keep her alive. We are ever grateful to her donors.
You can to the family or in memory of Josephine M. Chiacchiaro.
