Joy Chapman, 43, of Byron, Michigan, passed on September 22, 2023, from an automobile accident. Joy was born on November 28, 1979, in Lansing, Michigan to John Aldrich and Sandra Aldrich. She was raised in the Perry and Laingsburg area, having graduated from Meridian High School in 1998. Joy took time off after high school and took care of her grandparents Harold and Georgia until his passing in 2000 and grandmas moving to Indiana to be with her son and daughter in law. She met and married Jeffery Chapman in 2003, where they welcomed 3 amazing children, Sage Marie in 2005, Thomas James in 2007 and Abigail Fay in 2011. Joy enjoyed watching her children play sports and was their biggest cheerleader. In 2020 she made the decision to go back to college to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Heathcare Administration. She enjoyed reading, working out, jogging and spending time with her family and friends. She had a special place for dogs, having owned 3, Ellie May, Maxwell James and Mylo.

Joy is predeceased by her grandparents Harold and Georgia Aldrich. She is survived by her children, Sage, Thomas and Abigail. Her parents John and Allison Aldrich and Sandra and Joseph Young. Her sister Joanie and Randy Jones, her brother Brian and son Cody, her stepbrothers Joe and Melissa Young, Jon and Tera Young and Jason Young. She leaves Niece Annabelle Dunn and Jeremiah Parker and their son Westin. Nieces and Nephews Brianna, Riley, Klayton, Jax and David. Many family and friends will miss her unconditionally.

Services will be held at the Watkins Brothers Funeral Home in Perry, Michigan on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be Monday, September 25, at 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm. And again on Tuesday, September 26 at noon until the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her children’s names for their educational purposes.
