Joyann Gallagher of Superior, Colorado, passed away peacefully on May 28 with her family by her side. Joyann was born on March 12, 1925, in Redondo Beach, California. She was a longtime resident of La Jolla, California, where she raised her family before moving to Boulder in 1998 to be close to her adult children. Joyann was the quintessential mom who supported, loved and befriended her children, in-laws, and grandchildren. She earned her well-deserved nickname given by her children of "All Woman" for her fearlessness, strength and grace she brought to every activity. In addition to being the mom of moms, Joyann was a gourmet cook, accomplished painter, potter and master gardener. While raising her family, Joyann was a passionate volunteer with the La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art. Joyann travelled extensively with her family leading them on many adventures throughout Europe. After her children were grown, she focused on her community while counseling young pregnant women at Planned Parenthood. Joyann loved the precious time she spent with her husband, Bob, and her beloved golden retriever, Chelsea. Joyann is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Bob Gallagher of Superior Colorado; daughter, Donna (Tom) Kubancik of Boulder; sons, Michael (Gisela) Curray of Berkley, CA, and Steven (Emily) Curray of Lakewood, CO; and grandchildren, Katherine, Thomas and John Kubancik of Boulder.
