Joyce Netherton, a beloved member of the Crown Point community, passed away on October 15, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on July 20, 1943, Joyce was known for her kind heart and infectious laughter. She dedicated her life to serving others and spreading joy wherever she went. Joyce will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, her strong spirit, and her love for life. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. As the youngest of three siblings, Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 58 years LeRoy, and daughters Tammy Sue and Jillian Lee. Joyce leaves behind six daughters: Lorraine Ann McConnell (Donald), Samantha Marie Johnson (Terry), Amanda Marcum (Owen), Melissa Lynn McCampbell (Stephen), and one son, Roy Scott.

Joyce previously co-owned What's Cookin' Restaurant with her family from 1990-1998. Following her retirement, Joyce devoted herself to her grandchildren, Stevie, Max, Michaela, Victoria, Blaze, Antwaun, and Antonio. After the loss of her spouse in 2002, Joyce's health declined due to lung cancer and COPD. She passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2024.

Visitation will be Sunday 10/20/24 from 2:00 PM until 6:30 PM and again on Monday, 10/21/24 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home 11200 So. Ewing Ave. Chicago,IL 60617. Funeral Services will begin promptly on Tuesday, 10/22/24 at 12:00 Noon with Rev. R. Janae Pitts-Murdock officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL will follow.

Joyce will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of crossing paths with her. May she rest in peace.
