Joyce Caldwell Swicegood, 93, of Cornelius died November 5, 2016 at the Serenity House. She was born on November 20, 1922 to the late Ross and Mary Caldwell. She was a member of Grace Covenant Church. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Junker and husband Harrell of Huntersville; step-son, Edwin and wife Kay of Ocean Isle; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by spouses Frank Swicegood and Buck Hager; her 10 brothers and sisters, parents and sons, Duane and Jimmy Hager.Memorials may be made to Grace Covenant Church or Serenity House-Huntersville. The funeral service will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, November 9 in the chapel of James Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Turbedsky officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Community Cemetery.
