BRABBINS, Joyce IreneJoyce Brabbins (Galloway) passed away quietly on October 1, 2017 at the age of 85.She was predeceased by her husband Laurence in December 1992 and her infant grandson Matthew Russell in 1986. Also predeceased by her parents Percy and Gladys Galloway and her brothers Lloyd and Kenneth and sister Dorothy.She leaves behind her family, son Bob and Rhonda and their daughter Madison, daughter Joanne and Ivan Brown; grandson Landon and Anna and granddaughter Terra and Ryan and their children Tavin, Haidyn and Henley; son Daniel and Pauleen; and their children Trinity and Christian. She leaves her companion and best friend of 22 years, Bill Andrais and his family.Joyce was born on February 8, 1932 in Lamont Hospital to Percy and Gladys Galloway. Her brothers were Lloyd and Kenneth and sister Dorothy, all deceased. She leaves her beloved Sister Alice in Calgary and many precious nieces and nephews and special friends. Joyce attended the one room country school of Yorkville for 9 years, then graduated from the Fort Saskatchewan High School. Joyce then attended McTavish Business College in Edmonton, the same college her mother and sister Dorothy attended. Joyce married Laurence in 1954 and lived in the Fort. In 1969 they moved to Chilliwack B.C. where they stayed for 7 years.In 1970, Daniel was born in Chilliwack and in 1976 they returned to Alberta with the family and resided again in Fort Saskatchewan.Joyce worked for different companies, the last being Guardian Chemicals and left there in 1991. She spent time caring for Laurence in the Nursing Home until his death in December 1992.Her years after 1995 were spent in Edmonton and Mesa, AZ with her companion Bill Andrais. In October of 2016, Joyce moved to Dr. Turner Lodge until her passing.A Memorial Service will be held on October 5, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the First United Church 10409 100 Avenue, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta T8L 1Z3. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joyce's memory may be sent to the First United Church Memorial Fund in Fort Saskatchewan.
