Joyce Rita Garrison was the first born child of the Garrison family. She is the beloved daughter of John and Doris Garrison, born on Jan 4th, 1957. She attended school in NYC. She later met & married the love of her life for 35 yrs. Kenneth Guest and became an Army wife, relocating to Fort Bragg, North Carolina where she and Kenneth began their family bearing all her children thenreturning to New York.
Joyce the family matriarch is loved and known by many names such as; Tiger, Jacalean, mama, Mema, Mama Bear, Big Girl, Madea, Heavy and The Beautiful One. She is the elder sister Wesley, Ella, Brenda, John David, Kellie, Tamika, Rhonda and Patricia (Deceased).
She was a well-rounded person who loved to help people, doing volunteer work in Metropolitan Hospital and later worked as a caseworker for special needs adults and for Family Support Systems,where she later retired. She was a very family oriented person who shared great relationships with each individual in her family, developing special bonds with her sister and brother in laws, as well as her son in law. She enjoyed pampering herself and spending time with her NYC family and traveling to Florida to spend time with her sister, daughter and grandchildren who adored her.
Joyce was truly a New York City girl but her roots and foundation stem from Baltimore Maryland which graced her with an abundance of cousins which came from her parents 16 Siblings who shegrew to love & cared for dearly.
She has a host of nieces and nephews; Lil Wesley, Baby Gene, Shontae, Shaneice, Michael, Liana, Baby John, Annie, Ashley, AJ, Ronique, Jahnique, Tiffany, Juan, Brianna, Myasia, Ronnay. She has 10 great nephews and nieces and was blessed with 8 beautiful grandchildren; K'Ron, Cheyenne, Sean Jr. (aka Sunny), Amiyah, Grace, Kyle Jr., Justin and Jordan.
She lived life to the fullest with no regrets and now she is continuing her travel in her diva mode with her heavenly father into the next chapter of life.
