Juan Andres Madrid, 101, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013, in Las Vegas.He was born on Feb. 29, 1912, in La Cinta Canyon, to the late Isabel Nieves Madrid and Josefita Montoya-Madrid.A lifetime Catholic, he was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.He worked for several years for the Meadow City Gas Company. He was a longtime rancher.He is preceded in death by his parents, Isabel and Josefita Madrid; wife, Carolina Gonzales-Madrid; all of his brothers and sisters; great-granddaughters, Erlinda and Victoria Apodaca; great-grandson, Andrew Cruz; and son-in-law, Herman Griego.He is survived by his daughters and son, Bertha Apodaca and husband Don of Las Vegas, Eloy Madrid and wife Mary of Santa Fe, Agnes M. Griego of Albuquerque, Bessie Cruz and husband Alfonso of Santa Fe; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; three great-great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Rosary services were scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas. Funeral services were to be conducted at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant. Interment was to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Las Vegas, with the following serving as casket bearers: John Apodaca, Jerry Apodaca, Edward Madrid, Andrew Cruz, Gilbert Cruz, Rick Barela and Richard Barela.
