Juanita PruettOak Ridge, TNJuanita "Jo" Hill Pruett, age 90, of Oak Ridge, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at University of Tennessee Medical Center. She was born on April 12, 1926, in Kenvir, KY, one of eleven children born to Jefferson Ellis Hill and Della Mae O'Dell Hill. In early years, Mrs. Pruett was employed at Roane Anderson where she was a secretary. Once her children were born, she devoted her life to her family. Mrs. Pruett was one of the former first ladies of Oak Ridge while her husband, Roy F. Pruett served as mayor from 1983 - 1991 and served on Council from 1981 – 1993. She was an avid bridge player, but her number one priority and passion was her family.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Neva Sizemore, Clyde Hill, Azalee Ewing, Paul Hill and Aldean Carter, as well as five siblings who died in their early childhood years. She is survived by her husband, Roy F. Pruett, with whom she would have celebrated 70 years of marriage, April 12, 2017. She is also survived by daughters, Paula Pruett Cottrell and husband Dan, and Karen Pruett Mullins and husband Gary, all of Oak Ridge; four grandchildren, Dr. Brandon Cottrell and his wife, Dr. Amy Cottrell, of Oak Ridge, Ryan Cottrell and wife Kara, of Raleigh, NC, J. Mullins and wife Ashley and Jared Mullins, all of Knoxville; and five great-grandchildren, Tyce, Tanner and Tripp Mullins, and Madi and Caroline Cottrell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family, which she loved dearly.The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 17, 2016, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral will begin at 1:30 PM, with Rev. Richard Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
