Judith "Judy" Ann MirandaDecember 9, 1944 - November 11, 2016Judith "Judy" Ann Miranda passed away peacefully on November 11, 2016, surrounded by loved ones. She was the oldest of four girls, born on December 9, 1944, in Sherman, Texas to John and Betty Knapp. Her family moved to California when she was a young girl where she spent her youth growing up in Hemet, CA. Judy was a graduate of Hemet High School Class of 1963. It was in the Hemet Valley where she met the love of her life, Carmen Miranda. They were married in a private ceremony in June 1963. Together they had three children, Lisa, John and Jason. In 1974 they relocated their family to Hesperia, CA where Carmen was employed by the Southwest Gas Company for 27 years before he retired. Judy was a teacher's aide for the Hesperia School District for 25 years. She was an amazing cook and baker and created many of her own recipes. She was a huge Angels baseball fan and in her spare time she also loved to crochet, and garden. Judy had a passion for animals and enjoyed owning many different pets throughout her life; each one holding a very special place in her heart. She supported several different wildlife charities as another way to show her love for animals. Judy and Snooky loved spending time with family and friends, especially outdoors camping. Her favorite place to visit was Convict Lake in the High Sierras. Judy is survived by her husband of 53 years, Carmen Miranda; three children, Lisa Perez and her husband Alex Perez, John Miranda and Jason Miranda; eleven grandchildren Daniel Rojas, Vincent Rojas, Miranda Rojas, Lucas Miranda, Michael Miranda, Joanna Miranda, Chelsea Miranda, Jassmin Miranda, Casey Miranda, Marcos Miranda, and Johnny Miranda; two great-grandchildren Celeste Rojas and Mabel Rojas. She is also survived by her three sisters Nancy Nalley, Rebecca White, and Melinda Billingsley, all of Oklahoma. Per Judy's request, the family will not be holding any services. If you would like to send flowers, please send them to Snooky and Judy's home.
