Judith Amelia SavolaCamarillo, CAJudith Amelia Savola (Babich), 77, died July 11, 2017 in Camarillo CA, after a short illness.Judy was born on February 17, 1940 in Berwyn, Illinois. She was the oldest of four children and graduated from Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, OR. Judy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oregon where she was a member of Chi Omega.During high school and college Judy was employed by the Hillsboro Argus as a journalist. In 1963 she married Vernon V Savola Jr of Astoria, OR, who served in the United States Navy Supply Corps for 22 years. Judy had a 32-year career as an ESL teacher for the Oxnard Adult School. In 2016 she retired from teaching but remained active as the Adult Literacy program coordinator for the Camarillo Public Library.Judy is survived by her siblings Janet, Joyce and George Thomas, her children Thomas and Kathryn, daughter-in-law Laura and granddaughter Lindsay. She is further survived by many loved relatives, students and friends.Judy will be interred in the Conejo Mountain Memorial Park in Camarillo without a service. In her memory donations may be made to the Ventura Rescue Mission.
