Judith Ann Carroll May January 27, 1927- November 21, 2016 Columbus, GA- Judith Ann Carroll May, 89, of Columbus, GA. passed away on Monday November 21, 2016. A celebration of Judy's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Epworth United Methodist Church with Reverend Ewing Whitfield Carroll, Jr. and Reverend Tony Crosby officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA. A private family interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday Evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Judy was born on January 27, 1927 in St. Petersburg, FL. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.W. Carroll and the older sister to Connie Raye McGuire and the Reverend Ewing Whitfield, (Bud) Carroll, Jr. Mrs. May attended public schools in St. Petersburg, FL. and graduated from St. Petersburg High School. After completing two years at Young Harris College she began teaching Elementary School. On June 22, 1952 she married James B. May. Mrs. May was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Seekers Class, a lifetime member of the UMW (United Methodist Women), Vintage Group, HIS group and the Red Hat Society. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James B. May Mrs. May is survived by her sister, Connie R. McGuire, brother Reverend Ewing W. Carroll, Jr. four children, Claire Bell (Wayne) James Brooks May, II, Susan Reddick (Jimmy) and John May (Mollie); six grandchildren, Ashlee Fuller (Dan), Leah York (Michael) Lesley Olsommer (Michael) Carlin Anderson (Josh) Kathleen Burkett (Jaret) and Brooks May, III; 10 great grandchildren, Gracyn and Isabella Fuller, Caden, Corley and Brooks Olsommer, Alexander and Elizabeth York, Ellie and Lillian Burkett and Emerson Anderson, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Columbus, the Music Ministry at Epworth United Methodist Church or to Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon Road, Columbus, GA.
