Judith Ann Mattes, 63, passed away December 15, 2011. She was born on April 22, 1948 in Indianapolis. The first in her family to attend college, Judith received her Doctorate in Education in 1982 from Indiana University. She continued with her religious studies, becoming an ordained minister. Judith believed strongly in the power of education and the word of God and worked as a missionary and educator, most recently as a Professor of Reading at Arizona Western College. Judith was preceded in death by her parents, Slavko and Arline Mattes, and brother, Sam Mattes. Judith is survived by her nephews and nieces; Jeff Mattes and Heather Rather of IN. and Josh and Sara Mattes of ND.
