Judith Cofer Mudd November 22, 1939 - December 4, 2016 Raleigh Mrs. Judith Cofer Mudd died unexpectedly on December 4th, 2016 in Raleigh, NC at the age of 77. Judy is survived by her children, Jeffrey Mudd (Amy) and Angela Warner (Tim) of Raleigh, Michael Mudd (Rei) of Chattanooga, TN; and sister, Brenda Dennis (Phil) of Winston Salem, NC. She is preceded in death by her husband, Brent Mudd, parents Albert Cofer and Louise Cofer Lumley, and sister, Nancy Cofer Marshall of Winston Salem. Judy was born on November 22, 1939 in Winston Salem, NC to Albert and Louise Cofer. She married Brent Mudd in 1964. After moving to Raleigh, Judy began working for Eilers and Jones as Officer Manger. Her children remember her as a loving, caring, generous, and fun mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals. Judy loved cooking, sewing, traveling, painting and drawing, walking and was an avid Bridge player. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was a passionate grandmother with boundless energy who loved teaching her grandchildren about life and was a great listener and loving advisor to Jessica, Olivia, Chase, Sydney, Savannah, and Ava. She was a faithful and dedicated member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and was active in many church committees. Her closeness to God was the center of her life and her faith carried over into volunteer work with the USO, Red Cross, WakeMed and others. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 8th at 1:00 PM at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Judy's's life.
