Judith DavidsonNaples, FLJudith Davidson, 81, passed away in Naples, Florida, on September 13, 2017. Judith was born on May 2, 1936 to Florence and Dale Shafer in Evansville, Indiana. A graduate of Bosse High School, she attended DePauw University where she was a cheerleader and a member of Alpha Phi sorority. Judy married Wayne Davidson of Evansville, where they raised three children and were active members of the community. She graduated from the University of Evansville and taught English at North High School. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir. After moving to New York City, Westport, CT, and Princeton, NJ, Judy and Wayne settled in Naples, FL and Banner Elk, NC, where she enjoyed golf, tennis, travel, reading, duplicate bridge, and cooking. She was a member of the Elk River Country Club, Port Royal Club, Royal Poinciana Golf Club, and the Kennel Club in Evansville, IN. Judy was active in volunteer work from the Grandfather Home for Orphans in Banner Elk, to rummage sales at the Armory in Evansville, to the English Speaking Union in Naples. Judy is survived by two daughters, Nancy Jungemann (Mark) of Carmel, IN and Kathy Wheeler (Steve) of Naples, FL; son, Scott (Jill) of St. Louis, MO; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Danielle, Kathleen, William, MeeJin, Emily, and Andrew; and four great-grandsons, Ethan, Elijah, Harrison, and Cooper Wayne. Her family and friends will miss her greatly but take comfort knowing she is with her husband and lifetime love, Wayne.A memorial service will be held in Evansville, IN at Alexander East Chapel on Saturday, September 30, 2017, beginning at 11:00 am. Graveside service will follow at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will also welcome visitors at Alexander East Chapel in Evansville, IN on Friday, September 29, 2017, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
