JUDITH L. WILSON PORTAGE, IN Judith L. Wilson, age 75, of Portage, IN, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016. She was born on November 11, 1941 in Hammond, IN to Joseph and Melba (Whalen) Abatie. Judith is survived by her husband, Robert Wilson of Portage; mother, Melba Martin of Portage; sons, Joseph Tanner and Brian (Stacey) Chris; daughters, Diane Lagg, Faith Wilson, Dawn (Gary) Gale; Lisa (Mike) Elkins; 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and beloved dogs, CoCo, Buddy, Moco. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Abatie; children, Linda Williamson and Michael Tanner; sister, Florine Upton. Judith was a lifelong area resident and worked many years for Portage Township School's. She was a former member of Eagles Club and a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Post # 260. Judith was a unique soul, a one of a kind lady. She had a calmness to her that showed in her strength. She was a true angel to everyone and was there for anyone at any time. She enjoyed archery and was a member of the Deep River Bowman. She had many talents and loved her family. We all knew that look when she meant business. She has been the rock of her family and is now the family's angel. She impacted everyone who crossed her path with her love, courage and wisdom. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at Portage Christian Church, 5880 Evergreen, Portage, IN 46368 with Pastor Josh Brown officiating.
