JUDY HANFELDER
BETHALTO — Judy Hanfelder, 70, passed away at 8:25 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016, at her residence. She was born on June 18, 1946, in Wood River, the daughter of the late Joe and Mabel (Hine) Tuttle. She married Joe Hanfelder on June 22, 1963, in Wood River, and he survives. Other survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law: Michele and Dennis Johnson of Meadowbrook, Melissa and Richard Hosto of Edwardsville, Manda Jackson of Sanford, Maine, six grandchildren: Dennis Johnson, Jr., Josephine Johnson, Adam Hosto, Allie Hosto, Nathan Rector, Noah Hanfelder, a sister, Penni Waters of Seaside, Oregon, and a brother, Robert "Dink" Tuttle of Godfrey.
Judy formerly worked along with her husband Joe at Mehlville Dairy, Meadowbrook Dairy, Handy Pantry, and Joe and Judy's Food and Drink. She was a greeter at the Elias-Smith Funeral Homes and a receptionist at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. She loved to crochet and shop. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, William Johnson, and a sister, Sharon Rau.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, at St. John's United Church of Christ in Wood River. Rev. Mike Southcombe will officiate. Entombment will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials are suggested to St. John's United Church of Christ in Wood River.
