Judy SwinkGrimesJudith Rae Swink, 79, passed away surrounded by her family on August 13, 2017. Memorial services will be held at 11AM, Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Eternity Church, 2000 NW 100th St., Clive.Judy was born on February 26, 1938 in Paton, Iowa, the daughter of Clyde and Betty (Trafton) Erickson. She grew up in Des Moines and graduated from Des Moines Technical High School. On May 1, 1965, she was united in marriage to Ralph R. Swink, I in Eagleville, MO. She worked for Des Moines Public Schools for 40 years and retired as an administrative assistant in human resources. She loved traveling with her husband and spending time with her family. She was very creative and enjoyed crocheting and knitting.Judy is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ralph; children, Ralph (Lisa Seals) Swink, II, Stephanie (David) Jones, Candi Stephen, Scott Gray and Don Witt; grandchildren, Amie Gray, Shieanne (Alan Ambers) Swink, Miranda Stephen, Colton Tew, Tristan Stephen, Braxton Swink, Stephen Jones (Jamie Casner) and Ashley Jones; 13 great grandchildren; siblings, Bill (Pat) Erickson, Sue (Gene) Hyler, and Cyndy (Alan Whitmarsh) Erickson; brother-in-law, Bill (Rosie) Swink; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including Steve Whitaker and Jay Baumann. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sons, Ralph Jr. and Steve.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to her family.
