Julie Ann Jensen, 65, passed on November 17, 2020. She was born to Gunnar Johnson and Irene Burke in Aberdeen, Washington on February 10, 1955.
Julie graduated with honors from Hoquiam High School in 1973 and received her bachelor's degree from the Seattle Pacific College in 1977. She loved her time at SPC and maintained many lifetime friendships.
She married Mark W. Jensen in 1985 and they lived together in Bothell, Washington. Together they raised two children Eric R. Jensen (now married to Taryn Contento) living in Fort Collins, CO and Scott P. Jensen living in Ballard, WA.
Julie worked multiple jobs mostly in education as a teaching assistant and later as a tutor. She also worked as a Life Coach pouring herself into many women's lives. She retired from work in 2019. She also volunteered at Woodinville Alliance Church throughout her life providing much needed service. In 2000, Julie was honored with the Golden Acorn Award from the PTA because of her outstanding service as PTA President. She also was a mentor mom for an orginzation called Mothers of Preschoolers, also called MOPS. She loved pouring her life into all the young moms and shared all she had learned raising her two boys.
Julie loved travelling and was a huge fan of the band U2. Mark and Julie travelled a few times to attend their concerts, most recently traveling to Ireland in 2018. That was Julie's favorite vacation. She loved everything about Ireland, especially the beautiful landscapes and the more leisurely Irish lifestyle.
Julie lived a full life. She always wanted to be a mother and that was the role for which she was most proud. She understood her limits and worked on simplifying her life and slowing down to live with solitude and silence.
Julie is greatly missed but her life was focused on Jesus and now she is reaping the benefits of being his faithful follower.
