EVANSVILLE, IN - Juliette E. Norris, 61, of Evansville, was called home on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at 930 PM. She went to be with her Lord and Saviour surrounded by loved ones. She was born on June 11, 1953, in Evansville, to the late Eugene Norris and Clarice Williams in Evansville. She was reared in Evansville until 1960 when her parents divorced and her mother remarried Charles Williams and moved the family to Racine, WI. There, she attended Washington Park High School. At age 23, she moved back to Evansville, where she began working at Bootz Manufacturing. She then went on to become an employee at Amax Coal Company, where she worked for ten years. She transitioned from the production industry into the administrative field, where she participated in the Vista Volunteer Program at The Community Action Program of Evansville. Finally, she obtained employment at the Vanderburgh County Prosecutor's office, in the Child Support Division, where she has been for the last 22 years. She has been a very devoted and active member of Progressive Holy Temple church since 1982. Juliette, Gena, as she was so affectionately known, was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, friend, mentor, and true woman of God. She is already truly, truly missed. She was especially known by everyone for her great smile and for the special love that she had for her grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother; and an infant brother, Eugene. Juliette is survived by her three daughters, Andria (Thomas) Winstead, Chenel (Randall) Stewart, and Tamara Knuckles; grandsons, Cedric Norris, Sr., Bryce Stewart, Christopher Berry, and Tamron, Earl and Julienne Knuckles; five great-grandchildren; father, Charles Williams; sisters, Terry (Hubert) Martin, Belinda (Thomas) Martin, Anita Glover, and Charlese Alexander; brothers, Fred Norris, Carlos (Tawanna), Ricky, Rodney, Keith (Danielle), and Jason (Stephanie) Williams; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral Services will be 1100 AM Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at Memorial Baptist Church, 645 Canal Street, officiated by Dr. William Simmons, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park.
