Richter, June Marion June M. Richter went home to heaven on the evening of September 7th, at , with family members by her side. She was born on January 10th, 1926 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Howard and Anna Falk. She received her formal education in that city and after high school became an operator at the Bell Telephone Company. In 1949 she met Kenneth A. Richter on a very rocky 1st blind date arranged by their respective cousins. Something "clicked" and on September 3rd, 1950 they were married, and embarked on a honeymoon/relocation to Phoenix, Arizona. In Phoenix they raised a family and June continued her education at Phoenix Community College. She earned a degree in Nursing and worked in many of the Valley hospitals and as a private home health nurse. In 1988 June retired with Ken to the dream cabin they built in Strawberry, Arizona. June was a member of the Mount Cross Lutheran Church and served on the Altar Guild. She was also a member of 2 hiking clubs and made lap quilts for Veterans. Ken and June were married 62 years, 25 of those years spent in Strawberry. Ken passed away and June moved back to "The Valley" to be close to her children and grandchildren. June enjoyed hiking, her trips to Europe, Alaska, and Hawaii, and any road trip across America. She was always up for going for a ride. She also enjoyed fishing, quilting, gardening, baking, and visiting with friends. Her favorite color was blue. She enjoyed "going out with the girls" to antique shops and craft fairs. June is predeceased by her parents, her husband Ken (2012) and her two sisters, Olive and Jane. June is survived by her children, Cynthia Ledyard (David), Trudy Richter, Kenneth A. Richter Jr. (Cindi), Jennifer Richter and Steven Richter (Heidi). She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Her ready smile, quick wit and willingness to help will be sorely missed by all. A celebration of her life will be held at Mount Cross Lutheran Church in Payson, Arizona on Friday, September 22nd at 9:30am. Interment will be at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Cave Creek and Pinnacle Peak Road, that afternoon at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom's memory may be made to , or Mount Cross Lutheran Church Missionary Fund. Arrangements entrusted to Peace Chapel Funeral Home, Phoenix.
