Junell Smith was born July 20, 1947, to Pamela and Bob Smith. They both of her parents preceded her in death. She was known for all of her jokes and stories. Everyone called her June for short. In her younger year, she was a hand full for her parents. In 1965 she joined the New Nazareth Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized by Dr. Barker. After joined church, she joined usher board. She was in church when she met her husband Jerry Hence they were married on August 10, 1985, and been married for 32 years. Her husband was enlisted in the United States Army where they were to move to Memphis, Tn. Junell started working at Food Basket for 2 years become a Store Manager. Junell stayed with Food Basket for 15 years and retired.
Junell and Jerry decided to have two kids. They decided to give back to the neighborhood they always welcomed and loved to come down to play in their huge backyard, or just sitting on the front porch enjoying the summer weather. In March 2013, Annette had a terrible heart condition. She stayed strong for five years before passing from a heart attack. She died on June 1, 2018.
Junell is survived by husband Jerry Hence, and there 2 children: Shante (Willie)Hence, Almo(Chatasha)Hence, 3 sister Regina(Lamont) Madison, Tameke(Billy)Gilmore, Keshia(Maurice) Braxton, one Dennis (Chanesa)Harris, A host of nephew, nieces,9 grandchildren.
